Development of     HYDROLOGICAL DESIGN AIDS   (Surface Water)

The  Development of “Hydrological Design Aids (Surface Water)” has been taken up under World Bank assisted Hydrology Project-II. The basic objective of the project is to  standardize the design practices in form of design aids using state of the art technology for uniform use all over the country. This will help in carrying the hydrological analysis of water resources projects rationally for their optimal planning and preparing the hydrology chapter of the detailed project report (DPR) in a standardized format. The study is mainly targeted for  use by all the practicing engineers of states and central agencies.  The work of development of HDA(SW) has already commenced from December, 2009 and is being carried by Consulting Engineers Services (India) Pvt. Ltd. (CES) . The duration of the study is 37 months. The HDA(SW) has  the following three major components.

1.          Assessment of Water Resources Potential – Available/Yield Assessment

2.          Estimation  of Design Flood  and

3.          Sedimentation studies
